What Learning is

BrightShield begins where good organisational decisions begin — with the situations people genuinely face in everyday organisational life.
It builds judgement rather than testing memory, and asks people to notice, think and reflect rather than simply recall.
That might be the volunteer welcoming people through the door. The coach finishing an evening session. The trustee asking a difficult question. The safeguarding lead responding to a concern. Or the member of staff deciding what happens next.

We're deliberately starting with the areas where we believe BrightShield can make the biggest difference. Our first learning experiences are:
- Basic Safeguarding Awareness
- Practical safeguarding learning for volunteers, trustees, staff and anyone whose role brings them into contact with people.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead Learning
- Deeper learning for the people responsible for receiving concerns, supporting good decisions and helping their organisation respond well.
Every learning experience is being developed alongside organisations before becoming part of BrightShield Learning.
We'd rather build a small number of outstanding learning experiences than publish a large catalogue simply for the sake of it.
