How we’d like BrightShield to be used
These are our terms of use. By spending time on the BrightShield website — reading, reflecting, exploring a Conversation — you’re agreeing to them.
We’ve tried to write them the way we’d want to read them: short, plain and human.
Using BrightShield
BrightShield exists to support reflection, learning and quiet organisational confidence. The public website, the Conversations we publish and the ideas we share are here to be explored.
You’re very welcome. Read what interests you, sit with a Conversation, come back to it another day. There’s no login, no account and nothing to sign up for.
Conversations and MAIT
Our Conversations are reflective learning experiences. They are designed to help people think, not to tell people what to do.
Conversation MAIT is the small guided companion offered alongside a Conversation. It’s there to help you continue reflecting within that Conversation, and nothing more.
Neither our Conversations nor Conversation MAIT provide safeguarding, legal or professional advice. They aren’t a substitute for statutory guidance, for your organisation’s procedures, or for speaking with the right person at the right time.
Important decisions always remain with people and organisations. That’s how it should be.
Our content
The Conversations, Learning content, scenarios, website copy, graphics and branding on this site belong to BrightShield Learning Ltd. A lot of care goes into them.
You’re welcome to use the public website for your own learning and reflection, to share a link with a colleague, or to mention us in your own work.
What we’d ask you not to do, without asking us first, is:
- copy and republish our content;
- systematically scrape the site;
- reproduce our material commercially;
- use our content to train AI systems;
- present our work as someone else’s.
If you’d like to use something we’ve made, please write to us. We’re usually happy to talk.
Responsible use
Conversation MAIT is designed for reflection, so please use it in that spirit. Speak in general terms about situations rather than in specifics about people.
Please avoid entering confidential information, or anything that could identify a real individual — a child, a colleague, a family. MAIT doesn’t need those details to be useful, and the reflection is better without them.
Changes
BrightShield will continue to evolve, and these terms may change from time to time as it does. When they do, the updated version will live here on this page in the same plain English.
